Research
The Department of MCA at DSCASC has inculcated the research culture among faculty and students by maintaining a vivacious research atmosphere. The young graduates are motivated to orient towards research under the guidance and supervision of the faculty mentors. The department ensures to improve the knowledge base exponentially through the experiments of locating and evaluating the data from a wide array of sources. Studying effectively results in novel solutions to the problem under study is the key mantra taught and followed by the research team at DSCASC.
Students are advised on how to start the research journey, presenting and publishing articles throughout their tenure in the department. Many supporting activities and events are conducted on a regular basis to keep up the research spirit. Plentiful occasions are created for students and faculty members for enhancing knowledge and building network through Workshops, Seminars and Conferences. Faculty members are provided with incentives and On-Official-Duty (OOD) facility for research works.

Workshop on “Academic Writing”
Department of the computer applications, MCA (BU) organized an Online Workshop on the topic ‘Academic Writing’ on 21st December 2020.
The resource person of the workshop, Dr. Suchira Nair started the session with an introduction to the importance of academic papers or research papers in a student’s
career. She detailed about the preparations required before starting a paper, defining the problem statement and framing an outline, structure and writing style to be followed in academic writing. This was followed by a discussion about citation, reference, plagiarism and review of the paper. The workshop session concluded with a vote of thanks and presenting a certification of appreciation to the speaker by the organizing team.
